I'm Suzanne — a down-to-earth counsellor and psychotherapist, an AuDHDer and an adult adoptee. I'm interested in who you actually are, not who you've been told you ought to be.
Perhaps you've spent years feeling different, misunderstood or like the outsider. Maybe you're questioning your faith, your family experiences or your identity. Or perhaps life just feels bloody difficult at the moment.
You don't need to arrive with a neat explanation. And you don't need to mask.

I'm a person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist. My approach is warm, straightforward, curious and nonjudgemental. I believe the relationship we build matters far more than ticking boxes or fitting you into a particular mould.
Heavy metal, tattoos, motorbikes, crochet, alternative lifestyles, kink, complicated family histories or lost faith? Rest assured, I don't shock easily.
I bring professional training and lived experience to my work. I won't presume to know what your life means to you — we'll explore it together, at your pace.

My practice is person-centred, trauma-informed and neurodivergent-affirming. You can bring your whole self, including the parts you might have felt pressure to hide elsewhere.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need counselling?
There's no sliding scale of how much distress makes someone deserving of support. If there's something you'd like to talk through, that's reason enough to get in touch.
How many sessions will I need?
There's no set number. We can talk about what you want from counselling and review it as we go. Short-term, longer-term or one-off conversations may be possible.
Will you tell my GP?
I don't routinely inform your GP that you're attending counselling. Confidentiality and its limits — including circumstances involving serious risk or legal obligations — will be explained before we begin.
What if I'm worried about the cost?
My standard fee is £50 for a 50-minute session. Concessionary rates may be available, so please feel free to ask.
