Counselling Agreement
A little about how we'll work together.
This is an example of the information we discuss. Your individual agreement, provided before counselling begins, sets out the terms that apply to our work.
Our work
I offer person-centred online and telephone counselling to adults across the UK. Sessions are 50 minutes. You decide what you share, and you can ask questions, disagree or request adjustments.
Fees and arrangements
The standard fee is £50 per session, payable in advance. Appointment times and any concessions are agreed individually. Please refer to your individual agreement for confirmed cancellation terms.
Confidentiality
Our conversations are confidential, subject to legal obligations and carefully considered safeguarding or serious-risk circumstances. I undertake professional clinical supervision without routinely identifying clients. Where appropriate and possible, I will discuss any necessary disclosure with you beforehand.
Records
I keep brief, relevant notes securely using Kiku. My Privacy Notice explains how personal information is handled and retained.
Contact and emergencies
Between-session messages are for practical arrangements and are not an emergency service. In immediate danger, call 999; for urgent mental health help in England, call NHS 111 and select the mental health option.
Boundaries and endings
Our relationship is professional. You can end counselling whenever you choose, although discussing an ending can be helpful. If you have concerns about our work, you're welcome to raise them with me.
Before starting, you'll receive the full agreement to read and discuss. You deserve to know what you're agreeing to.
